What is the ideal home for a Pisces?

Our monthly series explores a simple question: which decorative aesthetic best suits each zodiac sign? Intuitive by nature, Pisces thrives in interiors that feel fluid, open, and filled with natural light, as Jill Krasny highlights.

Each sign carries its own sensibility, shaping the way a space is experienced. Capricorns, known for their discipline, favor structured and meticulously designed interiors, while independent Sagittarians are drawn to expansive, open spaces with a distinctive character. Pisces, by contrast, maintain a deep connection with their surroundings. As their season approaches (February 18 to March 20), one question arises: which principles should guide the creation of an interior that truly reflects their nature?

“Pisces have a natural affinity with water and anything that suggests movement and fluidity,” notes Anthony Perrotta, an astrologer and interior designer based in Providence, Rhode Island. A home set near water therefore feels like an obvious choice, as illustrated by this 19th-century château set on an island in Ploumanac’h, along the Breton coast. This character-filled property enjoys open views over the Pink Granite Coast and offers a variety of outdoor-oriented spaces, including outbuildings, a heated swimming pool, landscaped gardens, and direct access to the shoreline. Generous openings allow natural light to flood the interiors, while the reception room appears to rise above the surrounding landscape.

Dark or restrictive atmospheres do not align with the Pisces sensibility, which Perrotta describes as “light-filled and airy.” “They need space, flow, and clarity,” he explains. Compartmentalized layouts, narrow kitchens, or standardized fittings do not meet their expectations. In contrast, open-plan interiors with clean lines—drawing on Scandinavian minimalism or Japandi influences—resonate more strongly, particularly when they emphasize natural materials and abundant light.

A Victorian-style villa located in Menaggio, on the shores of Lake Como, perfectly illustrates this approach: generous volumes, open sightlines, impressive ceiling heights, and large openings to the outdoors all enhance the sense of space. The library, with its rich tones and enveloping reading nook, invites moments of quiet retreat.

Associated with dreams and imagination, Pisces seeks a soothing interior where each space reflects personal interests and sensibilities. “They have a real talent for curating atmospheres and bringing objects to life,” notes Perrotta. Their creativity is best expressed in homes designed as spaces to breathe and unwind. A property located in Chapeiry, between Annecy and Geneva, offers a contemporary interpretation, with its spacious bedrooms and private spa. More authentic elements enrich the whole, such as exposed beams, impressive ceiling heights, and generous living areas.

Empathetic and sensitive, Pisces are also drawn to preserved, tranquil settings. “A discreet and private environment can be particularly appealing to them,” Perrotta explains, provided there is still space for gathering. The property features a swimming pool and outdoor areas designed to fully enjoy summer evenings.

Pisces are naturally drawn to water-inspired tones: deep blues, greens, shades of purple, and soft creams. “They can, however, embrace a wide range of palettes,” Perrotta adds. Hues reminiscent of the sea, such as seafoam green or indigo, resonate especially strongly with their sensibility. Textural contrasts, organic patterns, and a sense of movement also play an important role in their interiors. Their home becomes a space for expression, where furniture may stand out through distinctive, sometimes bold choices. Their daily environment should remain a source of inspiration, naturally extending into their living space.

Highly receptive to sound and atmosphere, they will also appreciate a high-quality audio system throughout the home.

Ultimately, Pisces seeks a place apart—one that encourages calm and introspection. “Privacy is essential for them,” Perrotta reminds us. Their home must preserve this sense of retreat while allowing their imagination to unfold. “It should feel modular, inspiring, and aesthetically coherent. Art reflects life, and their home is no exception.”
