At the beginning of 2026, the American company Compass finalized the acquisition of Anywhere Real Estate Inc., a group that brings together several historic real estate brokerage brands, including Sotheby's International Realty.
This strategic transaction has led to the creation of a new entity, Compass International Holdings, now led by Robert Reffkin, founder and Chief Executive Officer of Compass.
A real estate network on a global scale
This combination marks the formation of the largest residential real estate brokerage network in the world. The new structure brings together more than 340,000 real estate professionals across over 120 countries and territories, creating an international ecosystem of unprecedented scale.
The ambition of this new organization is to combine the expertise of Anywhere’s established real estate networks with the technological tools and platforms developed by Compass, strengthening capabilities in property exposure, market analysis, and connectivity between global markets.
