What is the ideal home for a Taurus?

In our monthly series, we explore how each zodiac sign connects with interior design. For Taurus, a sign known for its love of comfort and simplicity, the ideal home strikes a balance between relaxation and practicality ideally with a spacious closet to keep everything neatly organized, as noted by Jill Krasny.

Have you ever wondered why some homes captivate you instantly while others leave you indifferent? Your astrological sign might have something to do with it. While bold Aries are drawn to daring design choices, artistic Pisces feel at home by the sea, and visionary Aquarians seek light-filled spaces that blend indoors and out, Taurus may well be the zodiac’s greatest connoisseur of domestic comfort. As Taurus season begins on April twentieth and ends on May twentieth, it is the perfect time to ask: what makes a home truly suited to a Taurus?

“They need a space that radiates comfort and simplicity,” explains Anthony Perrotta, an astrologer and interior designer based in Rhode Island in the United States. “Taurus loves places that feel like an escape from the world cozy, yet clearly defined.”

A home in a privileged setting, with sweeping views of Lake Annecy and the surrounding mountains, perfectly aligns with what a Taurus seeks. Generous openings throughout the property allow natural light to pour in all day long, creating a continuous connection with nature an essential element for this earth sign.

According to Perrotta, Taurus is naturally drawn to homes that incorporate nature, whether through floor to ceiling windows, indoor plants, or fresh flowers. It is best to avoid dark, enclosed spaces like basement apartments, as well as open plan layouts that compromise privacy. Instead, this home’s thoughtful design includes comfortable suites and clearly defined areas, creating a peaceful and intimate atmosphere that is ideal for Taurus.

A spacious one hundred thirty-eight square meter lower level also offers plenty of flexibility, perfect for those who enjoy organizing and customizing their space. A home with a large closet and a degree of separation between the primary bedroom and the rest of the house is ideal, Perrotta adds, along with ample storage solutions.

A contemporary home in Wellington in New Zealand combines privacy with breathtaking views. Expansive windows frame the natural surroundings from every room, while a cleverly designed pantry conceals both a laundry area and a bathtub perfect for maintaining a sense of order, something this material-minded yet detail-oriented sign truly values. “They love beautiful things, but they do not appreciate clutter,” Perrotta explains. The primary bedroom, complete with its own walk-in wardrobe and ensuite bathroom, feels like a true private retreat.

As a sign associated with abundance and sensuality, Taurus enjoys the good life but also understands the value of things, Perrotta notes. Once a Taurus falls in love with something, they tend to stick with it. “It is an earth sign,” he says, “so anything that feels grounding or natural will resonate deeply.”

Casa Rosabaya, a spacious villa set on Cosón Beach in Las Terrenas—a resort town on the Samaná Peninsula in the northern Dominican Republic epitomizes livable luxury. A tropical garden dotted with palm trees and sea grapes lines the pool, while the palette of glass, stucco, and wood from local design studio Arkina brings warmth to the modern concrete structure.

When it comes to color, Taurus often gravitates toward natural hues especially browns and beiges—but also feels drawn to greens, pinks, whites, and creams. “They may want to introduce a subtle pop of color,” says Perrotta. But above all, he adds, they are most at home with materials that feel rooted in nature: linen, hemp, cotton, and stone.

Ultimately, Taurus is looking for a home that feels like a true sanctuary a space to unwind in total privacy. “They want it to smell good, feel good, and look beautiful,” says Perrotta. “For Taurus, a home is an investment, one they will never regret, because it gives them the stability and pleasure they seek. Few signs love their homes as much as Taurus except, perhaps, Cancer.”
