Annecy International Animation Film Festival 2025

From June 8 to 14, 2025, Annecy will host the 90th edition of the Annecy International Animation Film Festival a global must-attend event for animation enthusiasts and industry professionals alike. This year, Hungary will be the guest country of honor, bringing a unique creative touch to an already rich and diverse program.

Each evening, open-air screenings on Le Pâquier, in the heart of the city, will offer a cinematic experience under the stars, open to all. A tradition that continues to draw a wide audience families, cinephiles, and curious visitors from around the world.

Running in parallel, the Mifa (International Animation Film Market) will take place from June 10 to 13, just across from the Impérial Palace. As a true hub of innovation, it brings together key industry players for conferences, networking sessions, and exclusive previews.

The 2025 edition will feature 21 feature films competing for the prestigious Cristal d’Annecy. The event also includes special screenings, discussions with today’s leading animation creators, unique exhibitions, and book signings.

Among this year’s highlights, the Arcane exhibition promises a deep dive into the visual universe of the hit series. The festival will also introduce two new formats: Midnight Shorts, late-night short film screenings, and the Annecy Dôme, an ephemeral immersive space dedicated entirely to new forms of storytelling.
